a burden has been lifted and soon, God willing, a new day will dawn

in our modern (or should I say post-modern) smug wisdom, let us be simple enough to rejoice with those whose suffering is lifting

from our comfortable homes and information saturated lives, let us be courageous enough to step beyond ourselves and lift a helping hand

from our daily routine, let us not be afraid of reaching out -- of being compassionate in a way only those with Jesus can be compassionate

some ideas on how to help:

pray largely for Iraq. in his epistles, Paul frequently prays for entire cities and even regions - let's do the same for Iraq.

contribute to relief efforts ongoing in Iraq. WorldVision and ServLife are two suggested groups to get involved with.

find an Iraqi church to support. this will be difficult to do . . . but would be a huge encouragement.
